Ex-Dallas Mavericks center Shawn Bradley made a great name for himself as an elite defender who protected the rim ever-so-well, being 7’6. Given that he is one of the Top 10 is NBA’s blockers per game, Bradley’s life hasn’t been an easy and swift as one might think since retiring in 2005. To those who are not aware, he was involved in a bicycle accident which left him paralyzed from chest down.
Having maintained silence on the same issue for years, Shawn Bradley finally revealed the details of his horrific incident. He met with his former teammate and the franchise’s vice president of basketball operations, Michael Finley. The two became good friends during their time together in Dallas, which is why Bradley became emotional when the two embraced.

What was revealed by Shawn Bradley?
As per ClutchPoint, before Finley left, Bradley savored a goodbye hug. “It’s hard for me to let them see me like this,” he said afterward, choking back tears. “It’s the challenge of remembering what once was . . . and knowing it’ll never be the same.”
Realizing that he would not be able to walk now, Shawn Bradley has made a career and name for himself doing much more than that. Being one of the finest big men to ever embrace the league with their presence, ex-Dallas Mavericks center tortured the opposition attack with his presence protecting the paint and rim.
Nothing being more tragic than that, Bradley was paralyzed while riding his bike in January of 2021 when a minivan rear-ended his bicycle during a ride he often frequented in his neighborhood in St. George, Utah. The ex-Mavs center’s large frame has made life in a wheelchair, already challenging, even more difficult.
Being large than life character as he is, there is nothing but respect in the mind of every sport fan for Shawn Bradley, who still finds joy in life even after the tragedy destroyed his physical being in almost every normal way.
